I have reduced the size by cutting it down, and would like to finish it off with the same look where I cut it.

A thick varnish may work?

Thanks for all the fast responce, I did try solvent on a cut off, held up fine. Now on to paint, and the color. Here a pic of what Im doing. Full story will be shown in my Michigan Build link, soon.
