Customer purchased car knowing that it wasn’t running but was told it just needed a couple things. I guess a new engine was one of those “things”.

A magnesium won't be easy to repair. Aluminum 2.0 cases are now worth gold.
It's a throw away unless it's the original to the car. Then the owner is left with trying to find a machinist/welder and that's if it can be saved. |

A magnesium won't be easy to repair. Aluminum 2.0 cases are now worth gold. It's a throw away unless it's the original to the car. Then the owner is left with trying to find a machinist/welder and that's if it can be saved. There are cases that can be welded and used again. This isn’t one of them. It’s origional to the car, that’s why the owner was a bit bummed. We just got in a ‘68 sand cast long block. We will probably tear it down, rebuild it and then sell it for $20k. |
