More & more I'm seeing the "Garage" being used to solicit sales for various of our member vendors instead of helping members fix problems, impart knowledge & generally discuss 914 related news experience ID parts & the like.
We have a section devoted for Member Vendors ~ don't we ? I understand the occasional crossover where customers need help or provide a (unbiased) reviews but cant we keep the introductions / group buys ect contained to the forum section CREATED for that purpose? SirAndy he didn't say anything about admins "censoring." Not sure where that came from
his point is well taken that certain vendors are highly regarded while others are demonized in the group - AA as a classic example. the old timers like to howl about this being "the best forum" but it's just like any other. There's lots of good information and help when you need it, but also lots of nonsense |

If you’ve been to events you’d know that 914Rubber donates about $1000+ of their products to many of the events and shows up as well. Finally, it’s a bit naive to think this isn’t an exceptional forum. Do you own any other collector cars? I have a 240Z and a ‘63 Chevy pickup. I would rate their forums almost useless. If a newbie even dares to ask a question they’ll get punished to the point they probably go away. If they do get an answer, they often get an answer so obscure as to be meaningless. If they ask a follow up question, it will likely get ignored for months. And when they go back a year later to see if any new information has been added? Their question is still on the front page and even the moths have died! |
