Started rebuild last September, not just a simple build. Dropped in motor after several set backs, and decided to eliminate the HE's for several reasons. Only to find out no way to bolt up cooling tins under the heads. Did I miss something, or is there a way I'm not seeing? At my age, I should be driving a golf cart instead of my 914!
Are the bottom cooling tins necessary to insure the engine doesn't run hot? Thanks to all who reply. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) |

Dave is not talking about the ones pointed to. He's talking about #5. I have HEs on my 914 but do not have the tins pointed to.

Hey thanks Spoke, this engine has just been rebuilt, and I wouldn't want those missing tins to burn up my work. I think I might have a plan to attach those tins to the motor.......or not. I'm not the best fabricator! |
