No. It’s confusing, but Mackinac is a town at the uppermost part of the lower peninsula. The Mackinac Bridge connects the lower and upper peninsulas of Michigan. Mackinac ISLAND lies in the straits of Mackinac (essentially Lake Huron), east of the Mackinac Bridge. |

No. It’s confusing, but Mackinac is a town at the uppermost part of the lower peninsula. The Mackinac Bridge connects the lower and upper peninsulas of Michigan. Mackinac ISLAND lies in the straits of Mackinac (essentially Lake Huron), east of the Mackinac Bridge. No cars on Mackinac Island, only horse carriages, bikes and foot power. You get there on a ferry boat only. Tom |
