So I’m guessing that the 914 chassis was not built to withstand the stresses and strains of 360 hp and grip of 12” racing slicks... or heck, even 230 hp and 245 wide tires!
So far, in Papa Surf, we’ve cracked (ripped off is more accurate) the outer rear suspension console, cracked the chassis around the rear wheel well/suspension area, and ripped out the front control arm mount points (all have been fixed and reinforced) In Huey, we tore off the inner rear suspension mount point “ear”. Now this in Papa... ![]() |

Yuck! I hope the repair is straightforward and the rust worm hasn't eaten heavily. Definitely on my car various areas have been reinforced, plus the 10-point welded cage, but I still worry about it ripping itself apart.
