So who all will be there with 914s for this one? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) It turns out I'll actually be in town for this one, since our travel plans have changed for Oct/Nov, but still no 914 ready to roll, so we'll be in an alternative vehicle (DD). However, we may bring along a camping accessory suitable for all Porsches - even our 914s & older cars - which you Teeners who like to camp may like! Hmmmm ... well some of you know that we already have an OO `88 Westfalia - so what could it be?? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif) The plan is to pick it up this Saturday. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/popcorn[1].gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) Tom /////// Well we got it this past Saturday, & many of you have probably seen my other Garage Forum SOT post on the 914 & Porsche Camping Accessory" - http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?sho...p;#entry2661563 However - we won't be bringing it to the PCA GPX 914 Breakfast this coming Saturday, because "Cone Meister" Dick Douglas has limited space for you Teeners - & I don't want to take up 1-2 spaces which you folks with 914s can use - but we plan to be there to visit with y'all! So FYI, I'll do a mini-display below for y'all instead - here are some teaser pix of our new "Toy" - otherwise known as my wife's new "Lil' Pucker"! (NOT her name for it BTW (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) ) We can tow this with any of our current cars, since it's small car towable with the Westy, & with the `85 325e & `73 914-2.0 - if I put hitches on them. I need to find a factory option BMW E30 Euro Hitch, which I can have a shop duplicate, but with a 2" receiver, which I'd planned to do anyway for our Yakima bike rack. However, I'm not going to cut anything to put a hitch on the 914 after the resto, so that's questionable for us - but others on 914world have done 914 hitch receiver installs. It's a mostly original (except fabrics & some seals) 1970 Eriba Puck - a German made Export model, & finished fitting-out in CA with the CA-HCD RV/Trailer Approval Plate - so it's considered a USA Import Model. There are quite a few Pucks & the larger Eriba lightweight trailers around the USA (see TheSamba Eriba Puck topic under Accessories), & many more are all over in the UK & Europe. It's just 12' L (10' L box) x 5.5' W, 660 lbs empty, 70 lbs hitch wt. - sleeps 2-3 at dinette made into bed, 2 burner LP stove, Icebox (some had the optional 3-way fridge), sink & +/-10 gal. fresh water tank (all are USA made appliances & electrical), with an ovail center pop-top lifts for standing room & down to fit in a normal ht. garage. Cheers! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) Tom /////// |
