After hard driving at the AX School this weekend, the car is backfiring slightly under deceleration in gear. Valve adjustment time?
Also, on the drive home, at 50-70 the steering was rattling hard after turns then it would smooth out in the straights. Turn again, rattling, then smooth out. Any ideas what these things could be? |

backfiring on decelleration is, in my experience, most often an exhaust leak.
Test: Run the engine cold. Cover both tailpipes so that no exhaust can escape. If the engine dies, then either the leak is very small, or non existent. If the engine keeps running, you'll probably also hear a loud hiss. That's your leak. |
