Just a random thought - Had the occasion to drive a MR2 Spyder and I was blown away at the similarities to the 914... neither the Boxster nor Cayman are as close... Driving the little Toyota had much more the feel of the 914. Has anybody else experienced this?

And that is why Porsche should have kept the "Sub-Boxster" model in the line-up with their new flat 4's - instead of putting the 4 into the Boxster/Cayman & calling it a 718 to try to cover both bases - which many in the Porsche community do not like the loss of a flat-6 WBX! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif) As for the styling - I prefer the prior iteration of the MR2 that looked more like a mini-Ferrari, than your "Froggy" iteration above - although that version does also draw upon the old classic Bug-eye Sprite look!
