Why the difference between the 901.631.601.01 license light...

Dick,
The top one looks like the one used for the rear trunk inside light, while the bottom pair are the license lights for the early 70-74 metal bumper 914s (75-76 rubber big bumpers have different half-round hood ones that go on the sides of the license). I think that the in-trunk light is the same P/N as the 911/912 license light, so they tend to get mis-titled for the use in 914s. PS - the trunk inside use is for all MYs 70-76 in the 914s.
