Why the difference between the 901.631.601.01 license light...

Both say they are for the early (70-74) 914s.

Dick,

The top one looks like the one used for the rear trunk inside light, while the bottom pair are the license lights for the early 70-74 metal bumper 914s (75-76 rubber big bumpers have different half-round hood ones that go on the sides of the license).

I think that the in-trunk light is the same P/N as the 911/912 license light, so they tend to get mis-titled for the use in 914s.

PS - the trunk inside use is for all MYs 70-76 in the 914s.
