Started to clean up and rebuild two DRLA carbs that's been sitting for the last 26 years. Put the first one in ultrasonic cleaner with mixture of Simple Green and water for 15 mins, came out quite nice. Got distracted with the second one, left it in the solution for 30 min after, came out really dark. The surface definitely looks altered. Anyone has any idea how to reverse this. I suspect the solution might have etched the surface. Hopefully the attached picture will show the different shades of the two carbs.
