I'm looking for a trailer hitch that I can put on my 1973 914 for the purposes of pulling a very small trailer for track days.

Halfmoon,
AFAIK nobody makes them anymore, although somebody on here may have an older one, & some have custom fab'ed them. One that was around back in the day is shown in the ad pic below, & that company is still in business. So you might try to contact them to see if they'll make one, or sell you their plans to have it fab'ed near you. ... I think the 914 hitch is in the top left of the pic on the left. It was sturdy enough to tow up to 800 or 1000 lbs of trailer, & 914ers used to tow teardrops, small fiberglass travel trailers (Boler, Casita, etc.) & German/USA made 680 lbs. Eriba Pucks (as ours in the pic below which we currently tow with our `88 Westy van, & I may try to build or get a 914 hitch for it too). So your track gear + trailer should work as long as within their specs for trailer & tongue/hitch weight. Good Luck! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) Tom /////// |
