I’m looking at a 1976 912E and I can’t find a VIN decoder online that works with the older vintage cars.
Anyone have a way I can check a vin# Thanks |

There is no search box on that site to enter the VIN Read the info there. There is not that much info to the ten digit VINs. What info are you trying to get ? The VIN will not tell the options of the car. Just the year and model and chassis number. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) Some cases you may also be able to tell if it's an early or late of that years production number, but it doesn't tell you options, engine number, etc. The 912 engine code for the '76 will be *406xxxx*, it's the only T4 without a letter prefix. |
