Was curious if the German Hella back pad lights without chrome surround were ever OEM on any MY 914s or just a newer replacement for the originals. Picked up this new 3 prong example and wanted to verify.

My car has had the one pictured since at least 1986.
I see the $$$ chrome-rimmed lights with the white switch and prefer this one. The lack of chrome and black switch seems more in keeping with the interior design. At least, it does to me. Could it have been changed in the 13-14 years of the car's life? Sure. Could it be original to the car? I have no idea—but if there is one thing I have learned while studying Porsche, it's that there are always X factors, supplier issues, etc. I'd look to Jeff, Glenn, Brad, or others for a better answer on this…but I'm keeping mine.
