There are lots of threads here - all very informative and I think I have this ready to go. The "extra" red wire goes to the new washer pump - i believe it's the + connection, correct?
My only other concern is the little "tab" that is always referenced to falling out...well...fell out of the original switch as it was being removed. But - I believe the new/repro switches have this tab (for grounding) already riveted in (as seen in pic 2) and i don't need to transplant the old tab to the new switches - correct? ![]() ![]() |

I just went through this and used the RED wire - for this application it is arbitrary as far as I could determine.
I found that the edge of the copper plate between the two screws in picture 2 (under the plastic) is capable of shorting against the steering column housing. I cut the copper piece down so it was not proud of the plastic mounting. Worked fine, There are lots of threads here - all very informative and I think I have this ready to go.
