Ive read some thing about the intake being a bit of a pain.. What is the solution? Also any other things that would be specific to 3.6 in a 914 would be cool.
The wiring, exhaust, and oil lines/cooler I have no issue with but the mounting and clearance.. I just haven't gone there before. Pictures are always awesome (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

I used a stock 964 intake, but flipped the throttle body around to face the front. It is tight but it fits. If you take the cam that drives the power steering pump and machine off the PS drive, you can put a plug in the back of the cam carrier and not have to worry about it leaking.
There is also a thread on the bird board on how to backdate the 964/993 engine to use the earlier engine mounted oil cooler. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911...here-s-how.html I couldn't do it and use the adapter plate for the cayman trans too. So I ended up making a metal close off to put in place of the oil cooler. Good luck with your 3.6 install. Let me know if I can help/offer BTDT advice. Clay |
