Just removed my outer rocker panels in search of rust. Take a look at what I found!
Kinda learning as I go here. Is this usual to find this much junk in the rockers? It's been 1 year exactly on the project. I've met some amazing people and can't believe how much I have learned. I love it. Awesome video. One more like for you. I love your enthusiasm.
It's perfectly normal to find a bunch of dirt and crud under your 914's rocker covers. It looks like there was surprising little rust, and that's great. That one you pulled off is usable. You might want to weld up that crack. How far you go from there really depends on what your intention is for the project. Full restoration or refurb and return to the road ASAP. And yes, I hate the cinder blocks too. Fortunately that looks like a mostly empty tub, but still, better safe than sorry. |
