Just removed my outer rocker panels in search of rust. Take a look at what I found!
Kinda learning as I go here. Is this usual to find this much junk in the rockers? It's been 1 year exactly on the project. I've met some amazing people and can't believe how much I have learned. Thanks for all the 914World encouragement! My Dad and I post these videos together. Thanks for watching! Great video! We've all had that look when we remove the rockers for the first time and realize they're dirt traps (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif).
Keep it up, Frances. You're a joy to watch. |

Hello! Thanks for check in here. I wonder if they can be closed off from dirt? They were originally installed with plastic rivets so they could be easily removed and maintained. 914rubber has the plastic rivets. |

Hello! Thanks for check in here. I wonder if they can be closed off from dirt? They were originally installed with plastic rivets so they could be easily removed and maintained. 914rubber has the plastic rivets. Level 1 maintenance is to squirt the inside of the outer rocker from the rear wheel well at every car wash. Level 2 is to undo the bolts along the bottom which should allow just a bit of clearance to squirt the inside better. Levvel 3 is to completely remove the outer rockers completely. |
