I’d build it with the OEM engine. Who cares if it’s not fast. It cool! I agree. Once it's up and running I might try building in lightness. Remove parts, put them aside and replace with lighter pieces. Between bumpers, engine lid, seats, wheels and some other parts, I think 150-200lbs is possible. A lexan rear window only saves 15lbs but its high and far back enough that it might help. Fiberglass light buckets are a lot lighter than oem. A lightweight exhaust is the perfect spot to save weight. So there's still plenty of opportunity to let the sickness take hold. The current owner checked with fat and was told it should be a 115-120hp engine so that would be similar to an early 911 but 200lbs less. |
