I want to replace the anodized stainless roll bar trim on my 1973 914. The top has a philips head screw, however, the bottom has a clip/spacer that is no longer produced. Does the trim have adhesive to hold it in place? How can I avoid damaging the vinal sail panel and reinstall the new trim? How can I save the clip/spacer at the bottom of the trim?

Thank you, Bob Bollinger

The nut for the clip/spacer is located in the top of the wheel well. It may be covered with stuff.

And one of the most challenging nuts on a 914 to get back in place.
