Please forgive the topic title, my journalism teacher taught me to be bold with topic lines! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/mueba.gif)
(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wavey.gif) I have a 72' 1.7 that has brand new "alpine white (soft white)" paint and gold "P" letters on the "hood". The only other "badge" on the exterior of car is a gold {914} emblem on the right rear in the usual place. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/bootyshake.gif) Additionally, my car has Perini wheels (thanks Greg Robbins for IDing (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/cool_shades.gif) ) that are Mahle look-a-likes with "plain chrome" (unembellished) hub covers. I would like to know if my car is "badged" as it was when stock and new (USA, USa, Usa, usa, usa usa.... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/flag.gif)) I would also like to know how a euro model was visually different, also regarding badging. I am aware that the car was a VW-Porsche in Europe and I was thinking of "rebadging" my car in the "euro style" to match my "FLATVW" licence plate.(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_flagge6.gif) Comments? TIA (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif) |

Thanks to all for the responses. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif)
I should of also mentioned that I have already installed euro front and rear lenses that I had on my other 75 2.0 that I robbed.(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/vampire.gif) It has been in my garage for 18 years, DNR (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smash.gif) . Does someone know where I might get a VW-Porsche rear badge? Maybe I'll trade ya for my "P" letters on my engine hood! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beerchug.gif) What about wheels?(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/rolling.gif) There are some chrome steelies at the VW store available with porsche crests that would be quite "retro looking" on the car. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/aktion035.gif) I have placed a wtb ad here with little response. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif) I can buy the new chrome steelie wheels for $88.00 each,(US.) with the caps but I really would like stock. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) What wheels were offered in Europe? What were the most common? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/driving.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/driving-girl.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/MDB2.gif) I really like the look of the old steelies but I do wonder if they are much heavier they may be than the Perinis I have? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/confused24.gif) Does anyone know if Perinis I have could have been stock,US? |
