What is the largest tire you can shove under a 140# springed 914?
Does anyone know what offset, on a 8'wheel, is centered in the wheel wells? I'd like to put the biggest wheels and tightest tires a 914 can stand. Even if some modification is nessasary. normally a 205 width tire on a 7" wide rim is the widest you can install on a bone stock fendered car in the rear...the fronts have more room, I had at one time 8" rims with 225s on the front with no real issues...I could only install the same 8" rims on the back when I cut, pulled and welded my rear fenders....you can pound out the fenders to fit as well, but nothing will just bolt-on and be that wide.
with flares you can go as wide/tall as your budget allows (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif) some people have reported that they can run a 215 in the rear on a stock fendered car, but tires are differenet from one manufacture to another... |
