@Superhawk996 and I are of the same mind on this thing. For me, the hoses are way to heat cycled to be only 27k.

@Superhawk996 and I are of the same mind on this thing. For me, the hoses are way to heat cycled to be only 27k. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) (you would know all about that given your torments). one good way to know. drop the trans and look at the clutch. 29,000 mile car put into storage in 85 is 90% to still have an original rubber core clutch in it. if it was driven by anyone who drove properly. driving it again it after 30+ years in storage it drops its perished rubber guts and starts slipping. (16 years will do it). the plate hits the fly wheel bolts. within hours, not even days. ask an idiot who should have pulled the trans while he had the car on jackstands doing the suspension bushings and shocks. clutches went out of use sometime in mid 80s. fitted to all 914s originally. same style clutch went in 930 turbos. back then. don't see a new clutch in receipts? has definitely had the engine down in this car. refinished engine mount bar in paint by looks of it. ![]() |
