@wonkipop Yes, I saw the engine bar painted black instead of silver.
Yet there's a passenger side air hose stretching to the fan on the driver's side. I've never seen that before on any 1.8. That seems to be a clue that it is original. |

That seems to be a clue that it is original. its in his receipts for parts post 2018 @Big Len . he bought the splitter you fit to the fan a couple of years back. not orig on a 74. 74 1.8s only had the driver side hose. the splitter and 2 hoses was either an option in 75 or was standard. not sure. but it happened in 75. also the hoses are not original. they ought to be if its a 27 K m car that was in storage for 30 years. i've still got the original on mine and its same age and more miles. trouble is i started looking closer at the photos,....and i shouldn't have. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) there is little stuff everywhere you look. check roof clips in rear trunk (engine bay end). one clip has original bolts. the other one is fastened with some other kind of bolts. i dunno. its a good car in a lot of respects, but it ain't no 27k miler. brand new horns fitted. look in behind the front grilles. i think it was a bit less tidy in 2018 that it is now. as noted by @914next - that paint is laid on with a trowel on rear trunk lid. either that or his digi dial had a short circuit. or bog? |
