@campbellcj Chris... "On the money" with your observation of John W.
We were at Streets of Willow and John was available that moment to mentor Matt in his '74 2L Craigs list "Special". While at speed and advising Matt on the fastest track Line for a 90 hp T4, John noticed a fuel odor and had him bring the car in Pronto; said that "The car is too nice to burn down" ! After pulling the 914 up to his blue Dodge van parked way at the end of the parking area, he found that we had a bad fuel filler-cap gasket. He slipped on a new one from his parts stash and said "I'll see you at the start line in 30 minutes ". He was a big part of our POC life and miss him to this day (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/marty914.jpg) |
