If your dash is "something different" please put up a picture. I want to redo my dash but don't really wanna go stock. If you've painted, covered with something different, done anything unusual...love to see some ideas. Bet others would too.

I am new here so forgive me. I see a commonality in all the pictures that most have replaced the stock steering wheel. Why? Is it for a sportier look? I recently acquired a 1975 1.8 and spent good money replacing the Momo steering wheel with a factory one. I didn't care for the smaller size of the Momo and that is obstructed the gauges.
I am surprised we have not seen any tartan interiors. |

The smaller diameter wheel gives people who are taller better leg clearance from the larger / oem steering wheel. You sacrifice parallel parking steering wheel leverage with a smaller diameter but for most of the driving it is more comfortable, especially if you’re north of 6 feet tall etc. Yes, there is visibility issues with the gauges. You just change the clock position or turn the gauges to bring the useful Portion to fit in your field of vision. Hope this helps. |

We even pulled the Momo off the six and put the correct date matching stock wheel back on it. But I am5'5" tall and she is not much taller. I let a friend who has a 74 2.0 that he regularly autocrosses drive my car, and he said I needed to replace the steering wheel. I told him the size works better for us. He is about 6 foot tall. So do what works for you. For me, the stock wheel works better. |
