I bought AA's heater blower update kit with the Y splitter and installed it over the weekend. The hose that goes over to the passenger side is very long. I'm interested ins seeing how others have that hose secured as it goes over the engine from the motor to the passenger side.
I'm guessing zip ties are used? My fear is that having it loose and flopping around in the engine bay, it could get sucked into the cooling fan (and it just looks bad). If you have this set up, please kindly share a pic of how you ran that hose from the motor to the passenger side? TYIA |

Thanks everyone for the info a pics.
I am aware of the original one hosesetup, as that is what I have right now ; ) Good recos on options for running the hose safely to the PS. I too thought the heat was sufficient in the winter, but my important passenger did not. Thus, seeing what I can do to get more heat into the cabin for her. We don’t get snow here (Delaware shore) in the winter. Thus, mostwinters the roads don’t get treated and I can drive the 914 all winter. I don’t take the 914 out in the rain nor on wet roads or icy roads. I’ve never used my wipers. Thus, driving in the winter, plenty of heat isn’t a bad thing My approach with mods is I will consider it as long as I can easily flip it back to stock at any point. This one is an inexpensive and easy mod to address a need. If it turns out it is too much heat for us, no biggie - I can remove and sell on eBay. |
