I bought AA's heater blower update kit with the Y splitter and installed it over the weekend. The hose that goes over to the passenger side is very long. I'm interested ins seeing how others have that hose secured as it goes over the engine from the motor to the passenger side.
I'm guessing zip ties are used? My fear is that having it loose and flopping around in the engine bay, it could get sucked into the cooling fan (and it just looks bad). If you have this set up, please kindly share a pic of how you ran that hose from the motor to the passenger side? TYIA |

I have this seeming factory Y pipe.
(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/i.imgur.com-14731-1702300378.1.jpg) it's a 52mm OD as are the J tubes that run through the tins the the HEs. Almost every source for theses lists 55mm or 60mm hose diameters? Do folks cinch them way down? I bought AA's heater blower update kit with the Y splitter and installed it over the weekend. TYIA the original plastic hoses had moulded ends on them where they clamped. the moulded ends matched the blower outlets and the j tubes. early was 61 and 73 on were 55. this referred i think to the diam of the corrugated hose section itself. there was a long thread on all this about a year ago in terms of trying to get the right diam hose - any hose you get now does not of course have the moulded smooth clamp sections on the end as the originals had. i think i remember in that thread it was all about how you could not quite buy an off the shelf hose that would fit snuggly over the j tubes and blower outlets. |
