I want to paint my house. Call H/O assn (mistake 1) and they inform me I must submit a color sample and $125 to handle the cost of review. I ask, even for the same color? Yes! Go paint store with chip from house. They match it. Buy one gallon, paint piece of cardboard (8.5x11 as required) and submit it with the check. Get letter from them. 'Your color as been rejected since is does not fit the palette.' I call them and ask, 'OK, where do I get this palette?' 'There isn't one.' 'How do I know what color is OK?' 'Send us sample and we will let you know.' So come on down. You can park your car in front of my house and help me paint. When the Paint Police come by, I'll use the Patti Hurst defense.... 'A crazed NorCal liberal held me at gunpoint and forced me to use this color.' |

my mother was the pres of a hoa, they had simple guide lines sheds must be same color and surface treatment as house, fences had to be one of ten designs, and you did have to get a permit for the above and for painting but it was free.
now there was a neighbor who put a permit in for a planeter across the front of his house, well he built it across and next to his house. then he asked for a permit for a flag pole, they said no till he asked for a permit to build the planter next to his house. well he put in the permit for the planter and it got approved. next the flag pole was to be a 15 pole, which he got approved for, but he put in a 25 footer, then he asked for a permit for a fence, which got disapproved, can you guess why, the guy always did more than what he asked for, but it always got approved after wards. well six months later he tried to get a pool, which got approved, when they tried to did up his yard, the hole flooded, so he tried to put in an above ground pool. well what do you know above ground pools are a no no, he did it anyway. well the hoa sent letters, had the inspectors for the county turn it down, but he did it any way. then he learned his lesson. a year later after the pool was done with out county permits and stuff. the hoa got a court order and removed the pool, and even landscaped the yard where the pool was, now he has a 10000 lean on his house to pay for the removeal of the pool and the other work. my mother got out of the resinged from the hoa when the other members pushed this to that point. hoa may suck but thier are reasons, not ones i understand but they have thier reasons |
