How do you get stock-like appearance and sound from a wevo/915 car? Patrick sells a system that uses 2 huge cylindrical cans, but I think there will be ground clearance issues on my driveway.
Another option is to cut a chunk out of the stock banana muffler to clear the wevo. Does anyone sell such a system? If you do it yourself, do the innards need to be mod'd, or is it simply cut and weld? I'd really like to do something similar to the patrick, but with small flat mufflers like Bursch on '76 914-4. But then you are on your own sound-wise, and I don't want something obnoxious or ricer, and it seems aftermarket mufflers are designed to be loud. This is strictly a street car. Help. A bit of thread resurrection…
Anything new under the sun on this topic? My car looks to have a modified 911 muffler with the input pipes lengthened to clear the end of the transmission and then the tail pipe at a different angle to work with what I think is the stock 4 cylinder rear valance. I’ve also realised that there is no support bracket from the end of the transmission to the ends of the heat exchangers so the entire weight of the muffler is cantilevered off the heat exchangers. I would like something like this system https://jpgroup.dk/en/p/Exhaust-rear--Sport...nt/18665/18665/ |
