While cruising through Arnie's post project thread a comment he posted made me do a bit of searching.

Arnie's thread: http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=320359

What my search for "Toyota head light kit" revealed was this

https://cruiserteq.com/oem-toyota-koito-h4-...s-elec81110kit/

That shows a pair of "OEM" glass 7" housings, H4 bulbs, and what looks like a pretty nice harness with relays.

For $42.50...

Hands down this is the least expensive route to glass housing H4 set up.

If the parts are actually made in Japan, the quality will be excellent.

I'd order today if I hadn't already solved my headlight gathering with a used 914Rubber LED kit.

The glass H4 housings individually are often more than that whole kit.

One of the more common LED replacement bulbs is for the H4.

Hope this helps someone...

Just beware of two things: beam distribution/quality (how the fluting actually works) and front glass curvature (appearance).

When I was doing the H4 conversion for the 7" lamps on my '57 T-Bird, I first bought a pair of Hella's. Great light distribution, but the front face is nearly flat. In a car like the T-Bird, where the "eyes" are the most prominent feature of the front, they looked awful. The original sealed beams from Ford were almost spherical.

Finally I went with an intermediate H4 conversion kit offered by my T-Bird supplier, not as round-y as the originals, but not as flat as the Hella's. They look good on the car, but the light distribution is not nearly as good as the Hella's. As I don't drive this car much at night anyway, it doesn't really matter. The 914 I have now came with the Hella's already, the fact that they are flattish doesn't stand out nearly as much in this case, and of course they spend most of their time folded in.

Back in the day when I had my first 914 in the late '70's, CibiƩ Z-Beams were the hot ticket. IIRC, they weren't even considered street legal at the time. CibiƩ stopped making them awhile back, but a couple of places appear to have "reproductions". I'm almost nostalgic enough to buy a set for my car... would look really cool.
