Inexpensive glass H4 head light kit Options

While cruising through Arnie's post project thread a comment he posted made me do a bit of searching.

What my search for "Toyota head light kit" revealed was this

That shows a pair of "OEM" glass 7" housings, H4 bulbs, and what looks like a pretty nice harness with relays.

For $42.50...

Hands down this is the least expensive route to glass housing H4 set up.

If the parts are actually made in Japan, the quality will be excellent.

I'd order today if I hadn't already solved my headlight gathering with a used 914Rubber LED kit.

The glass H4 housings individually are often more than that whole kit.

One of the more common LED replacement bulbs is for the H4.

Not sure why you would need additional relays - at least in '73 or later models. The H4's draw the same 55/60w as do standard sealed beams. From the manual:



The image of the H4 from the manual already looks flatter than the sealed beam.



Of course, the H4's were never factory-installed on the 914's sent to the US - non sealed beam units were only allowed in the US after 1983.
