While cruising through Arnie's post project thread a comment he posted made me do a bit of searching.
Arnie's thread: http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=320359 What my search for "Toyota head light kit" revealed was this https://cruiserteq.com/oem-toyota-koito-h4-...s-elec81110kit/ That shows a pair of "OEM" glass 7" housings, H4 bulbs, and what looks like a pretty nice harness with relays. For $42.50... Hands down this is the least expensive route to glass housing H4 set up. If the parts are actually made in Japan, the quality will be excellent. I'd order today if I hadn't already solved my headlight gathering with a used 914Rubber LED kit. The glass H4 housings individually are often more than that whole kit. One of the more common LED replacement bulbs is for the H4. Hope this helps someone... |

Covered fuses!
There's two of them and two relays. The harness is as "plug and play" as you could make it. It plugs into both new lights and has a socket that a single headlight connector, from the original vehicles wiring system, plugs into. A simple power source and ground are the other two connections. It's designed for a front engine/battery in E-compartment but could be adapted to almost anything. When I did the "snow melters" in my customers 73 240z this wiring was the only difficult part of the job. This harness that comes with the kit as a value of $100 IMO! I'm in agreement with @L-Jet914 . The bulbs that come with this kit will be normal strength as for output, but they will live FOREVER!!!! The bulb are slightly curved., almost flat and might cause a fitment issue in a 914 as they stick out farther than I would like. When I get time, I'll stick one in my car to see how much they protrude from the beauty covers... They are glass/ceramic construction so the r3eflective surface appears to be real chrome. The newer plastic housing lights have what I call "fake chrome" reflectors that can fad quickly with age. |
