QUOTE (Gustl B @ Feb 2 2005, 12:09 PM)
QUOTE (Quilmes @ Feb 2 2005, 08:54 PM)
All 1970-71 914-6 re-view mirrors are smaller than those found on a 4cyl model.
The exception is the 1972 914-6 models which also had the ignition key on the steering column like the 4cyl and the wider re-view mirror.

are you sure about this?

I knew that the mirror size and the angle was modified by 1972, but for all 914 - no matter if 4 or 6 cyl

this is was B. Johnson tells us in his "Restorer's Guide to Authenticity"

I am not sure about the angel of the re-view mirror?
The size was narrower from 1970-71 on all models.
YES you are correct here.
The orange 914-6 in the photos from Miami indicates it's a 71 model ( Unless I read it wrong)and it also has the rear window defroster with a 72 re-view mirror, as seen mostly on 72 and up.

I brought in a 914-6 from Germany a few years ago Chassis 9142430259, It had the M471 packaged, re-window defroster.
The original engine was changed out for 2.7RS. The Previous owner was Udo Frey of Germany, whom now races a 70 914-6 in the Young timer trophy.

Thanks
