Another thing... on my car, I ran them through the speedo cable and shift rod openings on the firewall. But to do it, I had to turn the flanges down on the shifter end of the cables.
That involved fitting a long piece of pipe to the back of the lathe to support the cables, and spinning the lathe VERY slowly while removing the flange. Then once they were through and in the car, I just put another nut on the cable to anchor it to the shifter. |
