I was offered a FREE 1974 porsche 914 BUT with no engine,

my question is,

is it worth getting a car minus an engine, the work? the money?

what do guys think?

i live in southern california, how much would an engine be?

how much effort to put it in?

thanks for the help

around 2G or 2500 for a decent engine

slow down grasshopper ... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

i just sold my strong running 1.8L for $300 (hi mueller (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wavey.gif) ) ...

a used engine in good shape can be had for much less than $2k!

if anybody has a DECENT 2.0L engine or heads that dont pop pop pop pop pop pop (thru the exhaust threads) i'll pay ~500 for them. I've always wanted to see California anyway. I'll mail myself UPS, get the head and mail myself back first class (with the heads in my arms) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)
