Watched an old race on YouTube last nite. Riverside ‘84
Never saw this 914 before, if I have I’ve forgotten. Finished 17th. Excellent seeing the 962 of Holbert on its debut. If not for a mix up on last pit, would have finished 1st. Anyway, the 914 was piloted by a fellow “Topper” Chasse. You west coast guys prolly knew him. From what I’ve read he had a few championships under his belt. The IMSA body kits were always interesting to cheat the wind. Screenshot of car and one i found on net. Attached thumbnail(s)

Maurice 'Topper Chasse was a top contender in POC time trials. RIR was his (and most of us POC) home track. He was an architect by trade, and a fast 'Shoe !
His POC car was a narrow body 9146 with (rumor) 2.8L, and different ratio gearboxes set up for different SoCal tracks. There are some 914s still running around SoCal with his signature design C/F high duck tail rear spoiler (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif) Dave from TRE, Dick Guldstrand and myself attended his funeral (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) There was a fiberglass shop in Riverside (Hoseman) that mfg these whale-tail 914 rear deck Lids.
