First time post. I've been searching the forum and the world wide web and I think I have the answer but I wanted some verification. Or if there is a new solution I'd love to hear it. I have a 75 914-4 that I'm engine swapping and using an Audi FWD long transmission with 108mm drive flanges. I want to run 108 stub axles and 5 lug hubs, it looks like I can get early 911 stubs and hubs here.
Hubs 90133106509 https://www.autohausaz.com/pn/12843346-UR-9...AiABEgK_FPD_BwE Stubs 901-332-232-00 https://www.heritagepartscentre.com/us/9013...xle-flange.html Several questions, are these the correct parts? Is the way to go or is there a better way I think I read boxster parts might do the trick too but have not confirmed. I'll be ordering custom axles. Also confirming that is the way to go. Thank you in advance. |

http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?sho...p;hl=pontiac+g8 Great read this thread although it is several years old now. Is there a cheaper or a more practical way to get the required length rather than the sway away bars.? If this is the only option is it still better to buy new driveshafts and rob the parts, or are they now available seperately. Many thanks in advance. Dave If you really want cheap, then check this out for cheap axles and CVs: http://www.914world.com/bbs2/index.php?showtopic=368822 As covered previously in this posting, you will still need transmission flanges, hubs and stub axles if you don't already have them. Rockauto.com currently has axles with CVs from three different parts suppliers. All are currently less than $100 (the $19 or $34 axles are long gone (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) with a couple sets on a shelf in our garage). We have a Wavetrac LSD in the '74 without a problem with the flanges we're using. But, be careful and do your research. IIRC there may be some transmission flanges that are a different depth/length and may not be compatible with your transmission. |
