I have the first prototype parts for the 914-6 style accelerator cable bracket, bell crank and linkage pull rod.
I redesigned the pull rod and bell crank. The cable support support bracket is 3D printed in stainless steel for increased strenght and rust prevension. The bell crank and pull rod use metric ball sockets wirh a safety wire clip and dust cover to prevent dirt from entering the socket. The pull rod uses two ball sockets unlike the original rod which uses a wire loop that wears. All parts will be yellow zinc plated. The bell crank is made with sloted holes to adjust the throttle modulation. The pull rod lenght is adjustable as it is a hollow tube connecting two ball sockets with all thread. The set will include an original pivot post with plastic bushings. The set requires an intermediate plate with the threaded boss for the bell crank. These were used on tail shift and 914-6 transmissions. Group buy price now is $225. It will increase to $250 when i have full production in 2-3 weeks. At this time i only have 10 accelerator brackets but can get more in about two weeks. I prefer payment by Zelle or check image. Shipping at cost by UPS ground. I used a piece of all thread in the pictures in place of an actual accelerator cable. Attached thumbnail(s) |

Hi Bruce, I have a 1973 with side shift 3.0 liter six with PMOs. Does the kit contain everything I need to convert from the basic cable pull right to the carbs? Can you describe what this is? :"The set requires an intermediate plate with the threaded boss for the bell crank." If so, I'd like to buy the set. I can send you pics of my current set up if needed. Thanks, Todd |

Can you describe what this is? :"The set requires an intermediate plate with the threaded boss for the bell crank." Todd, the transmission case has 3 parts, the main case, the tail cover, and the intermediate plate. This plate has to have the threaded hole for the pivot shaft; all /6 trans have this plate, but the /4 never did. So either have the plate drilled and tapped or try to find an original. |

I will post pictures later as i have both types of plates |

@bdstone914 Looks like I'm out of luck. Have a side shift 901. Thanks Bruce
Not necessarily. This is a bracket that used to be available to use a side shift trans and mount the post. I bolts to the two lower tail cone studs. I think i can reproduce a bracket like that. Attached image(s)
If Bruce can make these side shift brackets that would be great. I've made a few in the past. I made one for my brothers 6 conversion a while back too. It doesn't look as nice as what's posted but it works. Attached image(s)
