Last night, my throttle cable snapped. I believe it snapped somewhere in the tunnel (bc it's still attached at both ends). Bummer bc I just put it on about 6 months ago. I thought I avoided wrapping it around the clutch cable, but I must not have.
Thus, I thought I would replace both cables "while I'm in there" this time (in case the wrapping/rubbing did any damage to the clutch cable). I thought I read in a post recently that if installing both cables, install the throttle cable first, then the clutch calbe, to help avoid the wrapping issue. Is that the correct order? I have a bore scope that I will use and will obviously be more careful this time. Any other helpful tips are welcomed. |

I don't think there's really any order difference. I would just recommend doing them one at a time, which should make it easier to keep the two cables straight.
Also, check your engine ground -- a snapped clutch or throttle cable can often be a sign of a bad ground and the engine grounding through the cable. |
