I'm assembling my engine and it seems that the first and third main bearings never had locating pins to keep them from spinning.
It seems only number 2 has got locating pins on either half of the case. Should 1 and 3 circular bearings have locating pins? Anyone? Thanks! |

Nope, because on the full circle bearings there is only one pin used as opposed to the #2 main bearing where there are two physical halfs, so there are two pins in that case.
So either the pins dropped out somewhere when I broke it down, which I was very careful to take notes or they were not installed OR I had the case halfs run through a high temp parts washer which I suppose it's possible that the case heated up enough to drop the pins out. At any rate I need to get my hands on two of them before I can assemble the case. |
