PICS TAKEN DOWN, MY APOLOGY.

Info that was provided to me ahead of time:

Repainted in the last ten years, a pretty good job overall but some less than perfect spots.

The car has basically no rust. Any spots it has are very minor surface issues. No bubbling or structural issues. Jack it up and the door gaps don't change. I have known the car for 10 years and owned it for 5. It has probably been garage kept its whole life. Was undercoated (ziebart or something like it) when new.

The engine is a 2.0. It has the stock FI system and 96mm pistons. The heads have been replaced with '73 heads completely rebuilt with all new stock valves(sodium exhaust) in 2000. It has very minimal leaks. I tracked it one weekend and have autocrossed it a half dozen times. It is a good 914 for the track. I have lowered and aligned it and am halfway thru a brake upgrade. The front has BMW calipers, now the proportioning valve should get replaced and the old front brakes put on the back.

Upgraded parts:

turbo tie rod ends and rack spacers
new front rotors, pads, wheel bearings
halogen headlights
KYB struts
new metal master brake pads, new rotors, wheel bearings
19mm master cylinder, bronze bushings in pedal cluster
weltmeister front a arm bushings and sway bar bushings
weltmeister shift kit
ssi heat exchangers/bursch exhaust
pertronix points eliminator/coil
140# rear springs

issues:

-window seals replaced but seal is a poor quality copy. As a result the window won't roll up with the door closed.
-trunk hinge on one side broken. Have replacement, just never put it in.
-seats slightly torn.

EXTRAS
-custom 7" wide HRE wheels with almost new Hoosier 205 tires. If you know anything about 914 stuff you know how hard it is to get a 7" wide wheel onto a 914.
-extra case with brand new counterweighted crank, rods, and bearings. Was going to build a 150 hp motor and started accumulating parts.
-set of Tenzo racing seats. Brand new, need track mods to make fit, but should be OK. They might raise the seating position though. If you are over 5'10" these might not be a good idea.
-a whole bunch of suspension, engine, body, misc spares.
-ski rack!

new rebuilt 73 heads, new guides, shaved, stock valves didn't split case, "very strong 2 liter", great torque typical 901, 1st, 2nd a little touchy, grinds a bit like most dropped tranny, new seals, ran synthetic, changed to swepco fluid little drops out of it "good track car"

Mahles are 165 series tires HRE wheels - Hoosier, almost new. "good season left on them"
3 piece aluminum wheels, center basket weave pattern silver powerd painted, polished lip.. 7" x 15" diam.
set of 1/4" spacers included for front if needed.

Fresh 5 pt harnesses
no center console. 914/6 temp/fuel gauge.
has a sandwich plate, bypass for external oil cooler fill up back of pickup truck with spares parts

After i saw the car, my comments:

No EGR or any of that emissions crap
Fairly messy engine/tranny. Has one oil leak, nothing terrible.
Tuna can, solved pickup problem.
Runs straight 30 weight motor oil. Never heard of anyone doing that, strange.
Driver side trunk hinge broken
Car had A/C, crappy job covering it up(see pics). Should cut old floor out and weld from parts car. I have a guy who can weld just about anything for free.
Those 7" wheels are damn light! Very cool.
Hole in passenger side rear wheel well. Guy said its from changing the battery tray and isn't structural. This is my biggest problem with the car.
Jacked the car up, checked door gaps, not too bad. Moved about 3mm.
The 2.0 is a solid motor, it's got some power to it, doesn't smoke.
TONS of spare parts, rain tray, motor parts, harnesses, seats, calipers, etc etc etc

My bottom line is... I can buy this car, autox it for a year without needing anything. I can also sell the seats, spare parts for motor and a few things for at least $1k. On top of that the wheels/tires are worth over $1k new. It needs to be cleaned up here and there, fix a few small things. Barely used set of Hoosiers, nice set of wheels for them, harnesses. One thing that would be top on my list would be to bring the trunks down to bare metal and POR-15 them. After that do the same to the longitudinals and a few extra areas to make sure the rust is taken care of. There are a lot of little things that need to be taken car of: oil leak, dirty engine/trans, leaky seals, trunk hinge, etc

HELP!!!!!!!! $7k solid. Guy isn't in a rush to sell it. However I can turn around and sell the seats, engine parts and extras for at least $1k.

looks like an eastcoast car. Seems overpriced to me for the condition. The repairs are homemade and needed to be fixed and the paint job was poorly done. The car had little metal to begin with and when new parts are not welded in it make it only worse. 5000 MAX but I don't think I would even pay 4000 from the pictures. It is obvious the guy did not spend much time doing the repairs correct what else is not done correct. Keep looking, better cars are to be found.
