just went to the local scrapyard today and happenned to come accross a VW 4 cyl. engine when i asked about it the scrapyard guy told me it was a 1.8 type 4, but i can't trust this guy. the cranckcase number starts with W022 (i thought 1.8's came with the prefixes AN and EC)
does anyone know what this engine is? will it work on a 914 (1.7 914 engines numbers started with W80)? how does it differ from a 914 type 4? thanks nick p.s:my guess is it's a 1.7 |

nope, the 80 stands for the HP the W engines were making, that list in the 914Info section is a bit misleading about that ... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) Andy |
