I'm timing the cams on a 2.0E engine and from one side to the other the difference is consistantly .005". the lift is correct but the left always seems to come higher or lower as the case may be. The difference is greater when I slip the cam back and put the pin in the next hole.
Anybody know what the acceptable slop would be here? TIA, Mike D. |

If youre talking about the tolerance at overlap for timing the Cams ,
Ecams 3.0-3.3mm at overlap. 3.15mm being nominal so +/- .15 mm or .0059 thousands on each side . So if your .005 thou. side to side its with in spec. assuming that is from nominal 3.15 or .124 thousands So one side is like .122thou. and ther other .127 thou ? with a diff. of .005thou between L&R that would be OK |
