My '75 914 2.0 liter was stored for 25 of its 30 years. Consequently it is very - very original. It still has all of its smog equipment intact and operating. It even has the "big brother seatbelt - ignition lockout operational.
I hear a rumor that there was a recall due to fracturing plastic fuel lines in '77. The reason I ask is that I have a fuel smell in my interior. Not just annoying but more than a bit concerning... Hmmm Anyone know more about the recall? Would Porsche still perform the work all these years after the recall? Anyone have a similar experience with recall work not done? Appreciate any help... Actually, if the sticker doesn't specifically list alloy wheels, it probably came with steel wheels. Dealers made a ton of money on the add ons, so they often ordered them stripped. As others have said, the "HO" campaign applies, but it covers only the rubber lines. If the plastic lines that run through the tunnel and along the firewall are good, leave 'em ............. They're rarely a problem, and the car's too original to bastardize. The Cap'n |
