so apparently, i've sufficiently pissed off the stanford DPS to the point that they are done with 'warnings'.
some time ago, they issued me a couple warnings for having my car up on ramps and "non-operational". they claimed this constituted and 'abandoned vehicle', and claimed the right to tow. well, i took the car off ramps and moved it over a spot. problem solved.... until now. put the car up to install the engine. engine installed, transaxle installed, axles are on the cv joints, everthing good to go except the exhaust (long story). was gone ONE HOUR this afternoon, and i come back to find a red tow notice on my car! they have to go through a bunch of hassle to tow it apparently, so my 'tow date' is april 14th, but they can do it sooner if they wish. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/bs.gif) guess they don't want me working on my car here, huh?! hey, stanford: (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/finger.gif) |

Man I wish we could get that kind of service on the coast north of Santa Cruz where abandoned vehicles sit for months before anyone tows the damn things away. Brings back memories when Sheilah and I lived in Palo Alto back in the late 1980's, people there are very much into keeping up apperences. I had a 914 back then too that I pulled the engine on and had neighbors complaining and got a formal warning fortunately it was just a clutch job. Now I have two acres and lots of room and no neighbors close enough to complain. I still need a damn garage though. |
