Only problem with Portland, is weather. It is not conducive to long term planning. Granted, Portland is not Seattle, but I've passed on several race weekend's over the years (driving from SoCal) due only to the uncertainty of the weather. I love PIR; it's a fantastic track. One of my all time favorites! I recall a race weekend back around '83, when I arrived at the track after a 1000 mile trip. A steady rain....I remember sitting in my van starring at the pit area with all the puddles waiting for it to clear....never did, so I took a scenic drive up the gorge, had a relaxing dinner. Both SoCal and Vegas don't usually suffer from the weather disrupting a long term plan; BTDT.
