For the record we all saw that, we are just ignoring it to let you slip away when you realize what a huge headache/pita it is to be lead organizer. Unless your serious, and you want the lead thing, and in that case, Viva Portland! As a longtime resident of the PNW, (I grew up in the aformentioned Hood River) I'd say if we do the event in June/july/August your going to have alot better chance for good weather. I think doing the loop from Portland, down the Gorge to Hood River, Up Hiway35 over the shoulder of the moutain, over summit pass, Lunch at the Timberline Lodge (Right on the mountain. You park here to climb Mount Hood), down back into Portland would be a fantastic Event. I can see it now, a stop at Multnomah falls, to get some photos, down to Hood River for some pictures of Windsurfers, up Highway 35, (Right past my Gma's house), to Timberline, More pictures, and down to portland. Should be about 3-5 hours. Additional points, we can stop at Cascade locks (ever wanted to ride a Stern Wheeler?), In Hood River we can stop at Panorama Point, and a few other places I'm sure people can chime in on. |
