WCC 2006 in Portland OFFICIAL Options

Okay let's get the ball moving here. Portland is the official site for the 2006 WCC #3 July 7-8-9.
It is going to piggyback on the Portland Historic races, go here for more information on the historics... http://www.portlandhistorics.com/
I have spoken to the operations manager on thursday, and she is very supportive of our group using the Portland Historics as a piggyback event. She is open to suggestions and will discount group ticket sales.
Hotels are plentiful and close to the racetrack, but we need to get them booked early. Shopping and restaurants are closeby. Indoor go kart track, just up the freeway. Golf course next to the track.
The weather in July will be fabulous, warm and sunny, but not sweltering.
Volunteers will be needed and I will ask for all the help I can get.
So plan on the beautiful Pacific Northwest for the WCC 2006.

The raffle bus is quite a production - not only in getting the vehicle ready, but the whole raffle itself.

It is the concluding event of each year's Jerome Jamboree. You have to be present to win. Everyone gathers around the bus and they read off the first 3 of 6 numbers. If you match those, you step up and put your hand on the bus. As they read each of the succeeding numbers, folks walk away if they don't have a match, until hopefully there is just one person left. If they don't get a match on all numbers, the process starts over again.

Last year's winner was the last person at the bus with 1 number left, but didn't match. They drew again and she ended up being the last person again - only this time the last number matched!

After the drawing, it's a tradition that all the "losers" toss their tickets into the bus to give the winner some "fun" with having to clean out the bus!
