I just wanted to say hello. I'm picking up my 1st 914 I won over ebay today. 71 1.7L, a supposed 88K miles, looks to be in great shape. All she needs is a cluch from what I can tell. This will be replacing my recently departed 86 alfa spider.
Here are some pics I took sunday while looking at it. It is a respray, and I was wondering if anything can tell me if this is a factory color. It didnt seem to match any on the 914 color list (IMG:http://www.mypad.org/~chris/pics/914-1-small.jpg) (IMG:http://www.mypad.org/~chris/pics/914-2-small.jpg) |

Welcome.
It is hard to tell from a pic, but it is probably a non-original color. There is one way to tell for sure. Inside the driver's door jamb, you will see one of these plates with the color code on it. (IMG:http://members.rennlist.com/914_canam/zchassisplate.jpg) Write down the code and look it up on on of the color sites. If it tells you that your car is Zambezi Green, you've got a color change. If the code is for one of the reds, then the fun conversations will begin. Have fun with your 914!
